About the Chef

You can say Louie Estrada “got his start in the kitchen”. Since a young age, Louie has had hospitality in his blood, working with some of the largest names in the industry. From promoting some of the most prominent nightclubs on South Beach and throughout Miami Dade County, to bartending and taking his talents to NYC in 2007 in pursuit of big city dreams, Louie has always felt at home innovating and serving people.

Louie has worked at some of New York City’s most renowned bars and has traveled the world showcasing his many bartending talents. In 2017, Louie wanted to expand from behind the bar and follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. That’s when Louie was given the opportunity to open up his own Restaurant/Ventanita in Brooklyn and share his recipes with the world.

My Cuban Spot” by Chef Louie Estrada opened in the summer of 2017 to much acclaim. In a short time, la ventanita became a neighborhood hangout and caught the attention of the New York Times, to rave reviews. He has since received many other awards highlighting his food and culinary abilities.

Recognized as an up and coming chef, Louie has cooked at the James Beard House & appeared as a contestant and judge on Food Network shows including CHOPPED & Beat Bobby Flay. He was also featured on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

While New York was home for many years, ultimately, his hometown, Miami, came calling. “My Cuban Spot” began operating pops-ups around the Magic City and now will open his first brick and mortar beach side location, where Louie can share his love of the Cuban cuisine with locals and tourists alike.
